Nurse Gets 3 Years Probation For Stealing Narcotics
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A federal judge sentenced a 45-year-old nurse last week to three years probation for stealing the narcotic hydromorphone from a hospital for personal use, according to the United States Attorney's Office.
District Court Judge Ann D. Montgomery sentenced Della Thalin, of New Richmond, Wis., on one count of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud. Thalin faced the charge on Aug. 22, 2011, and pleaded guilty on Oct. 6, court documents said.
According to Thalin's plea agreement, she admitted to taking hydomorphone between February and March of that last year by using her unique ID and password to gain access to hospital drug cabinets.
