Number Of Travelers Driving For Thanksgiving Up Again
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Thanksgiving is just days away, and the number of Americans traveling for the holiday is going up again this year.
AAA is projecting that 43.6 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more during the Thanksgiving weekend.
That's up from the 43.3 million who traveled last year, and it's the fourth year in a row that the number of travelers has grown.
Ninety percent of people will be jumping in their cars, but while more people will be hitting the roads, air travel will be down.
AAA says 3.14 million will be flying, down slightly from 2011.
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving is expected to be the busiest travel day yet again.
