Northstar Commuter Rail Service Resumes
FRIDLEY, Minn. (WCCO/AP) -- The Northstar commuter rail service, which has been sidelined since Saturday, has finally resumed operations again.
The Northstar rail was able to transport commuters back home who took replacement buses Tuesday morning, after officials were forced to delay operations.
The Northstar commuter rail service was out of service because of damage caused by a weekend freight train derailment in Fridley, which took longer than expected to repair.
Still, customers could experience some delays, as freight train activity returns to normal levels on the track it shares with Northstar trains.
Regularly scheduled service is expected to resume Wednesday. The special Twins service will not run for Tuesday's game. However, the Twins Northstar train is expected to be up and running for Wednesday's 12:10 p.m. game.
