Northfield Family Wants To Help Search For Missing Son
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - The search for a Minnesota college student missing in the Chippewa River is still underway Monday. Twenty-year-old David Rogers, a UW-Eau Claire student from Northfield, fell into the river from a pedestrian bridge Friday night.
University Police Chief David Sprick says authorities are still trying to figure out what Rogers' was doing before the incident.
"We are continuing to determine what the activities of Mr. Rogers might have been prior to him leaving the residence hall," Sprick said.
Chief Sprick said Rogers' family is in Eau Claire and wants to help.
"It would be unsafe for civilians because of the high water and steep river banks and the conditions," he said.
Rogers was straddling the railing on the bridge before he fell.
