7 Hurt After Night Of Shootings In Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A string of shootings overnight in Minneapolis has left seven people injured and investigators looking for suspects.
The night of violence began Saturday around 7 p.m. on the city's north side. Police say two cars were shooting at each other on the 2300 block of James Avenue North. One man was hit in the back and taken to North Memorial Medical Center for treatment. He is expected to be OK.
Half past midnight, another shooting happened on the 1700 block of Plymouth Avenue North. There, five people – three men and two women – were shot. All suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police say the shooting was not random.
Shortly before 3 a.m., violence erupted in south Minneapolis. Police say shots were fired near the 2500 block of Hennepin Avenue, leaving one man with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center, and is expected to be OK.
No arrests have been made in connection to any of the shootings, all of which remain under investigation.
