GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Brock Nelson broke a 1-1 tie with his 16th goal of the season as North Dakota beat fifth-ranked Minnesota 2-1 Friday in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.
Nelson's late goal sent the Golden Gophers (15-8-1, 11-4-0) to their seventh one-goal loss of the season and gave North Dakota (12-8-2, 8-7-0) coach Dave Hakstol his 199th career win.

But North Dakota tied it on Andrew MacWilliam's goal with only 9 seconds left in the second period. It was MacWilliam's first goal of the season.
Aaron Dell made 10 of his 25 saves in the third period. He held Minnesota scoreless on four power plays.
