I-94 Still Closed In West-Central Minnesota
DETROIT LAKES, Minn. (AP) -- State authorities say Interstate 94 in west-central Minnesota will remain closed indefinitely due to high winds and drifting snow.
The state Department of Transportation and the Minnesota State Patrol say winter conditions have led to dangerous road conditions and reduced visibility.
The agencies closed I-94 from Moorhead to Alexandria on Friday afternoon. Minnesota State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske said it will remain closed until Sunday.
The agencies also say conditions improved enough to reopen three other highways that were closed Friday afternoon. They are Highway 10 from Moorhead to Detroit Lakes; Highway 210 from Breckenridge to Fergus Falls; and Highway 28 from Browns Valley to Westport.
However, Hanson says road conditions on those highways are still poor. She cautions motorists to use extreme caution, especially after dark.
