No One Hurt In Cambridge Structure Fire
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – No one was hurt after a fire broke out in a Cambridge building early Tuesday morning.
According to the city of Cambridge, around 1:35 a.m. the Cambridge Fire Department received a call reporting flames from windows at a building in the 100 block of Main Street South.
Upon arrival, the fire department established a perimeter to help extinguish the fire and preserve other buildings.
Officials said the Cambridge Fire Department called in assistance from Braham, Isanti, North Branch and Rush City.
According to city officials, the building had been declared hazardous last year by the Isanti County Court due to the lack of monitored fire suppression system.
In November 2014, the building had been evacuated of tenants.
The city said due to the deteriorated condition of the building an interior fire attack was not safe for firefighters.
The additional crews left the scene around 5:40 a.m. The Cambridge Fire Department stayed on the scene to cleanup and assist in the investigation.
MnDOT established a detour route for motorists. The detour route for westbound traffic is Highway 95 to Garfield Street to 11th Avenue to Dellwood Street to Highway 95. The detour route for eastbound traffic is Highway 95 to Dellwood Street to 11th Avenue to Garfield Street to Highway 95.
The Cambridge Fire Department called in the State Fire Marhsall to help investigate the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown.
