'No Fly Day' Rallies At Lake Harriet For Airplane Noise Reduction
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A national effort is trying to restore peace and quiet to neighborhoods dealing with loud airplane noise.
The "No Fly Day" campaign rallied at Lake Harriet Saturday. They're calling on the Federal Aviation Administration to take action and reduce airplane noise. The group is asking for transparency about how much noise there really is.
They're also proposing using what's called a "vortex generator." It goes under airplanes to smooth the air flow, reducing noise from a plane's fuel ports.
