Prince Fans Gather At Paisley Park Amid No-Charge Decision
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Thursday's news that charges won't be filed in Prince's death is bringing up strong feelings for his family and fans.
There are so many emotions for fans all over the world who have followed this case. But the decision not to press charges hit especially hard for his family.
"I knew I wasn't going to be happy about it because Prince isn't walking around here," Prince's cousin, Charles Smith, said.
Charles Smith said the decision to not press charges in Prince's death was disappointing, but he commended law enforcement for a thorough two-year investigation.

"I'm glad they turned over every rock, looked under every leaf and man they gave me the real story. Nothing but respect for them," Smith said.
The decision was also emotional for Prince fans. Some waited in the government center to hear the decision.
"I just feel devastated nothing is going to be done," Prince fan Kimberlee Andrus said.
Others stopped by Paisley Park to pay their respects.
"Somebody should be held accountable for the dosages and what he was receiving," Andrus said.
These friends said they felt regardless of the decision, they were glad the process was over.
"It's totally over and we can kind of enjoy his music in peace," Prince fan Rebecca Taylor said.
But Smith said he does not want to give up on finding answers.
"I'm going to find out what happened until I'm satisfied. I don't care what anybody else thinks, I just want to be satisfied," Smith said.
But his cousin said he would like to see people make good music and be good people.
There are a number of events going on this week to celebrate Prince's life. Thursday through Sunday, you can see his Purple Rain coat at the Weisman Art Museum. And Prince Night is at Target Center Friday night.
