MINNEAPOLIS — Wednesday will be the warmest day of the work week.

The forecast high in the Twin Cities is 50 degrees amid a large ridge sequencing that will cause states to the south to break into the 60s and 70s.

With a little low-level moisture with the last of the snow melt, there could be some patches of fog Wednesday night through Thursday morning. Otherwise, it will be another beautiful day with morning lows near freezing and daytime highs back in the upper 40s. There will be plenty of sunshine to enjoy.

The wind picks up a touch Thursday with gusts up to 30 mph.

A shortwave drops in Friday, but it lacks moisture, so we'll only notice a drop off in temps with highs back near freezing.

Winds turn back out of the southwest this weekend with gusts up to 30 mph on Saturday. That will warm us right back into the 40s and maybe 50s with more sunshine. It will stay breezy into Monday.

The really warm day is Monday when we could push 60. The daily record of 64 was set in 1896.

That's ahead of a system that brings more wind and showers Tuesday, and eventually a brief return to more seasonable temps for the middle of next week.
