Minnesota's Unemployment Rate Continues To Fall
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota's unemployment rate has fallen below 4 percent.
State officials released figures that show 3.9 percent of Minnesotans were unemployed in October — the lowest rate since June 2006.
That decrease continues a steady trend this year as the state has added jobs and more citizens have left the workforce. Minnesota employers added 9,500 jobs in October, bringing this year's total to nearly 50,000 new jobs.
Nationwide, 5.8 percent of Americans are unemployed.
Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Katie Clark-Sieben says the state's job growth in the last three months has been the strongest since 1990.
