New York Photographer Captures Moments For #OnlyInMN Campaign
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minnesota had a beautiful fall.
That could be seen in real life and all over social media.
In fact, the last few months have been pretty incredible, with all the shots of the changing leaves.
With social media sites, like Instagram, making anyone a photographer Explore MN took advantage.
This season, Explore Minnesota started the #OnlyInMN hashtag.
And it wasn't just Minnesotans who joined in.
WCCO spoke with a famous photographer from New York who spent 10 days documenting his trip across southern Minnesota.
It's hard to beat fall in Minnesota, especially when it's punctuated by the crimson, bright yellows and vibrant oranges of our changing trees.
With so much to experience across the Land of 10,000 Lakes, Explore Minnesota celebrated this season with their 10 Day Minnesotan campaign.
"We wanted to invite these renowned travelers to show off Minnesota from a new vantage point," Alyssa Ebel, of Explore Minnesota, said.
They reached out to several famous photographers, and sent them each on a 10-day trek across the state.
One guest of honor was Zach Glassman.
"I took it on as a challenge. And I also took it on as a personal interest project because I like it when travel exceeds my expectations. In this case, that's been true," Glassman said.
Hailing from New York, Glassman spends most of his time on the road, capturing snaps and posting them to social media.
"I was excited to see what else lay beyond Minneapolis. And I think that was the whole point of the campaign, to open other's eyes," Glassman said.
He logged his photos using a hashtag "OnlyInMN."
And you can, too.
Minnesotans have logged more than 50,000 photos with the hashtag, because, well, we already know what Glassman discovered.
"That it's surprisingly fantastic. I had a couple of friends say, 'What are you going to do for 10 days in the south of Minnesota?' I don't even think we had enough time. I would say, surprisingly there's a lot more than you would expect," he said.

Natalie and Mike even shared some fun photos from their trip to Battle Lake this summer.
