Stillwater Fire Station/Guard Base May Mean Tax Hike
STILLWATER, Minn. (WCCO) -- Plans are in the works in Stillwater to combine a fire station and a new National Guard base.
The proposal would put the building between Boutwell Road and County Road 12.
Stillwater would pay around $8 million to build the fire station and the Guard would pay $17.5 for its portion of the complex.
Property taxes would be increased to pay for the new fire station. That is upsetting some residents.
A meeting will be held on the proposal this Wednesday.
