New Rail Line Could Go From Minneapolis To Duluth
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If taking a train to Duluth sounds pretty good to you, the Minnesota Department of Transportation is looking for your input.
A proposed passenger rail line is one step further down the planning process, with an environmental review now available for public comment. It outlines everything from how a high-speed train would affect things like the surrounding landscape, wildlife and noise levels as it passes through small towns.
Spokeswoman Julie Carr says eight trains a day would operate between downtown Minneapolis and Duluth.

Carr says rail stations would be constructed at various stops along the way. Anyone interested in commenting on the proposal can do so on MnDOT's web site, or attend a public hearing planned for April 4 at the Cambridge Community Center.
