NE Minn. House Fire Likely Accidental, Electrical
VIRGINIA, Minn. (AP) -- The fire marshal says a fire that destroyed one house and damaged two others in the northeastern Minnesota city of Virginia was likely accidental and electrical.
But Virginia Fire Marshal Roger Scott says he is seeking one additional piece of evidence. The Duluth News Tribune reports it may be several days before the cause of the fire is confirmed.
The fire broke out Friday afternoon, apparently in the attic of one of the homes. That house -- now encased in ice -- is considered a total loss.
Houses on both sides of the destroyed house also were damaged. No one was hurt.
Virginia firefighters had help from Mountain Iron, Eveleth and Fayal fire departments.
