Nat'l Park Service To Give $500K To Minneapolis For New Park
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis is getting $500,000 to help in the development a new park on an old industrial site.
The National Park Service just announced that it's giving the money for improvements to Sheridan Memorial Park along the Mississippi River.
Last summer, a veterans' memorial art installation was unveiled at the park, Sheridan Veterans Memorial, which is just north of the Broadway Avenue Bridge.
The new money will go toward a playground, picnic areas and shelters, pathways to connect trails and restoration of the riverfront.
