MN Reserve Forces Head To Afghanistan Tuesday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – More than 100 Minnesota soldiers from the U.S. Army Reserves are getting ready for deployment to Afghanistan as part of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Officials said 103 soldiers will participate in a farewell ceremony at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Aldrich Arena in Maplewood.
They're a part of the 203rd Transportation Company, U.S. Army Reserve.
They're responsible for loading and transferring cargo at air, rail and truck terminals and also will transfer cargo and materials at various locations throughout Afghanistan during their deployment.
