7 Injured In Blaine Crash, 1 Airlifted From Scene
BLAINE, Minn (WCCO) -- Authorities in Anoka County say that seven people were injured in a Thursday afternoon accident in the Blaine area.
The crash happened at about 2:20 p.m. at the intersection of Radison Road and Tournament Players Boulevard, according to the Sheriff's Office dispatch.
Ambulances have responded to the scene and treated or transported seven people.
Authorities say a driver crossed into oncoming traffic where the posted speed limit is 50 mph. A Mercury Cougar driving in the southbound lane went over a concrete barrier and into the northbound lanes. The Mercury was then struck by a Nissan Armada and a Chevy Equinox.
Five of the victims are said to have serious injuries, while two suffered minor injuries. Four people were transported to local hospitals via ambulance and one person was airlifted from the crash.
None of the victims' identities have been released.
