Multi-Car Crash Closes SB Hwy 280 Ramp To I-94E
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – For those driving Tuesday morning, use caution on the roads.
A number of crashes and rollovers have occurred across the metro Monday evening and into Tuesday morning.
The most recent accident occurred on Highway 280 near the Interstate 94 eastbound ramp.
MnDOT says a mutli-car pile-up has shut down to the ramp from southbound Hwy 280 onto I-94 east.
According to MnDOT, as many as 20 cars are involved, including a semi-truck.
Other closures include the Penn Avenue ramp on westbound Highway 62.
It is also slow going on Interstate 35E at County Road 96 in Vadnais Heights.
Overnight crashes include a semi-truck rollover at 11 p.m. on Interstate 694 in Shoreview near Victoria Street.
It's not yet clear if weather played a factor or if anyone was hurt, as state patrol has not yet released information on the accident.
But it did reduce traffic in both directions if I-694 to just one lane for four hours overnight.
Skid loaders were used to move all the cargo onto other semi-trucks, and the semi itself was pulled out around 3 a.m. Tuesday.
Just east of that accident, a car rolled into the ditch around one 1 p.m. Tuesday where I-694 meets up with Interstate 35E in Vadnais Heights.
It didn't look like anyone was hurt.
The car was pulled from the ditch after about 30 minute.
It's not clear if weather was a factor in this crash either.
