MSP Flights To East Coast Canceled Over Snow Fears
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than a dozen flights to the east coast from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport have been canceled in anticipation of a major snowstorm.
According to the latest reports from MSP Airport, at least 15 Monday flights to destinations ranging from Boston to New York to Philadelphia have been canceled.
The carriers affected include Delta Air Lines and US Airways.
Nationwide, airlines have preemptively canceled more than 3,000 flights ahead of the expected snow event.
The storm could dump two to three feet of snow along the East Coast. A blizzard warning has been issued for New York and Boston.
New York Mayor Bill de Blasio warned the city it could be the worst winter storm they've ever seen, with at least 20 inches of snow predicted. Meteorologists say that much snow in addition to expected 30 to 40 mph winds could be disastrous.
