MSP Awarded $6M For Improvements
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Transportation Department has awarded the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport more than $6 million for infrastructure upgrades.
Senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, along with Rep. Keith Ellison, announced the award on Tuesday. The Democratic lawmakers said the $6,219,743 investment will help MSP stay on the cutting edge of the transportation network, improve safety at the airport and create jobs.
Specifically, the money will go to a project focusing on rehabilitating 26,200 square yards of the airport's apron, where planes are parked, loaded and unloaded.
Last year, the airport says it served more than 35 million passengers.
