MSP Airport Working Overtime To Keep Runways Open
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than 150 flights have been canceled so far Sunday at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
Spokesman Patrick Hogan says they have been able to keep up because there were enough flights canceled that they can handle it.
"When we have a major snow storm like this we focus on the two parallel runways which are kind of like the work horses of the airport. And we'll shut one down to clean up and keep the other one open. Kind of back and forth all day. And we'll shut one down, we're able to keep one runway open at all times," Hogan said.
Hogan said it's important for travelers to call ahead to check the status of their flight.
