Mpls. Police Issue Advisory After Reported Luring Incidents
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Police have issued an advisory after reported luring incidents over the past few months in south a Minneapolis neighborhood.
On Sunday at 6 p.m., it was reported that three girls, 10 to 12 years of age, were victims of a luring incident near East 37th Street and 18th Avenue South. The suspect drove up to the victims and asked them questions. He was naked, police said. The victims then ran home and the suspect fled.
Police say a couple other similar incidents happened on Oct. 3 at East 32nd Street and Bloomington Avenue and on Aug. 5 near East 25th Street and 13th Avenue South.
The suspect is described as a white man, 18 to 30 years of age, brown hair and wearing a black knit cap in one incident. In two of the cases, the vehicle is described as a black four-door Nissan Altima.
Minneapolis Police are investigating.
Police encourage parents to tell their children to call 911 immediately on anyone suspicious, stay alert of their surroundings, travel in pairs, be aware of idling vehicles or strangers loitering, switch directions if they think they are and walk where there are other people and be wary of isolated spots on the street.
If confronted by a potential attacker, police say to call attention by yelling, screaming or making other noises to attract attention to the attacker, call 911, do what's needed to survive and try to remember the incident and if the suspect left anything behind.
