Mpls. Heroin Dealer Found Guilty In Death Of Little Falls Teen
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A Minneapolis man has been charged with the murder of a Little Falls woman who died of a heroin overdose.
According to the Morrison County Attorney's office, 30-year-old Keon "Bird" Mangun sold heroin to Brandon Bedford in north Minneapolis on Feb. 27, 2012.
Bedford then gave the heroin to 19-year-old Miranda Gosiak of Little Falls on that evening and on the afternoon of Feb. 28, when she died of an overdose.
A Morrison County District Court jury returned a guilty verdict against Mangun Wednesday evening on a charge of 3rd-degree murder.
Assistant County Attorney Todd Kosovich says the verdict is a "major victory in the war on heroin."
"In this case, we went after the heroin dealer himself," Kosovich said.
Mangun may serve 11 years in prison. Sentencing is set for Nov. 27.
