Mpls. Firefighter Burned In Home Explosion Back On The Job
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- It's been almost a year, but now a Minneapolis firefighter is back on the job -- with a special gift.
Last July, Jacob LaFerriere suffered severe burns to his hands and broke his ankle in an explosion at a house fire. He had to jump from a third-story window to save his life.
All of his fire-fighting gear was destroyed by the extreme heat, including his fiberglass helmet, which melted to the point it could no longer be used.
On Tuesday, he received a new one, free of charge, from the manufacturer.
