6 People Injured In 2 Shootings In Downtown Mpls.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One person is in stable condition after six people were injured in two shootings in downtown Minneapolis early Monday morning.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, the first shooting occurred just before 1:15 a.m. outside the First Precinct, located on at 19 4th Street. Officers heard the sound of gunshots being fired and immediately responded.

Upon arrival, police located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds in his leg and hand. He was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Another male took himself to HCMC and is also being treated for non-life threatening injuries to the leg.

Officers on the scene of the shooting recovered a handgun in a nearby parking lot.

Police said the second shooting occurred just before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and South 4th Street.

Three adult males and one juvenile male were found suffering gunshot wounds.

All were transported to HCMC by ambulance. Three were treated for non-life threatening injuries, while the fourth victim, who was shot in the chest, is in stable condition.

According to police, officers arrested a suspect and located a handgun after a short chase on foot.

It is unclear if the suspect is involved in either shooting, or if the shootings are related.

Police said none of the suspects are cooperating. They believe the shooting is gang related.
