Morning Flights Canceled At MSP
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- At least 130 flights were canceled at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport on Monday morning.
The airport reported that only two runways were operational early Monday -- one was handling departures, and the other was being used just for arrivals.
Minneapolis-St. Paul International has four runways total.
A number of travelers were forced to sleep in the terminal on cots because of the canceled flights.
One of the groups stuck at the airport was a high school hockey team from Phoenix, Ariz. They broke out their hockey sticks and a ball to practice taking shots.
Additionally, a number of people trying to travel to the Twin Cities found themselves stranded in other parts of the country. Among them, WCCO This Morning anchor Angela Davis, who was forced to stay in Washington D.C. for a little bit longer than anticipated.
