Morneau Given Day Off Due To Forearm Soreness
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota Twins first baseman Justin Morneau is experiencing soreness in his left forearm and is out of the lineup.
Manager Ron Gardenhire says Morneau's injury is "not a big deal" but "definitely something that was bothering him" while swinging the bat during Thursday's game against Philadelphia. Morneau told Gardenhire he felt better Friday, but the team wanted to be cautious.
Morneau spent 15 days on the disabled list in May with soreness in his left wrist stemming from offseason surgery. He's hitting .241 with 10 homers and 33 RBIs in 46 games.
Joe Mauer played first base Friday against Milwaukee.
