More Than 300 Minnesotans Take Part In Climate March In New York
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Andy Pearson is with the group, Minnesota 350.
It's a nonprofit dedicated to protecting the environment and ending global warming.
Pearson says the march on Sunday will be huge.
"It will be the biggest in the history of the world on this issue," Pearson said.
He believes more than 100,000 total will be there to raise awareness about a number of concerns.
For him, it's about protecting Northern Minnesota and the problems with oil pipe lines.
"We are seeing the direct effects on our land, on lakes and on our resort country. So, it's bad anyway you look at it," he said.
The march comes just days before the United Nations is set to hold a meeting on climate change with several world leaders attending it.
