More Closures To Affect I-35E Traffic
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Department of Transportation announced a series of lane closures that could affect traffic in the east Twin Cities metro area on Friday.
According to MnDOT, southbound I-35E will be reduced to one lane between West 7th Street and Shepard Road from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday.
Northbound I-35E would be reduced between the same posts from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Also, MnDOT said southbound I-35E will be closed between Interstate 494 and Lone Oak Road starting at 10 p.m. Friday. The closure would last until Monday morning. The detour is to Highway 77.
Crews are working to repair and resurface the stretch of I-35E, part of an ongoing project to improve the ride, extend the life of the pavement and work on drainage.
The project will include more closures between now and November, when the project is expected to reach completion.
