Moorhead Sandbags To Be Delivered Friday
FARGO, N.D. (AP) -- Sandbagging deployment in Moorhead, Minn., is now set for Friday if the weather holds up.
Moorhead city manager, Michael Redlinger, says the forecast shows that the weather will be favorable for dike building on Friday through the weekend. He says he hopes it will take about four days to build the Red River city's sandbag dikes.
He also told The Forum that homeowners should build their dikes to 43 feet.
The National Weather Service in its recent outlook gave the Red River in Fargo, N.D., and neighboring Moorhead a 50 percent chance of nearing the record 2009 flood that crested at almost 41 feet.
