Moorhead Police Find Dog That Bit Woman
MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) -- Moorhead police say a woman who said a dog bit her as she waited for a bus gave incorrect information to officers.
The 52-year-old woman reported the attack Wednesday. Officers began looking for the animal to check its vaccination records.
In a follow-up interview Thursday, the woman acknowledged that she did not give correct information to police. She now says she was in a friend's home looking at a pit bull cross which had day-old puppies. She says the dog bit her while she was trying to pet the puppies.
The dog's owner was unable to provide vaccination records. The dog and her pups are now in the city pound for observation.
Police plan to forward their reports to prosecutors to review possible charges, including filing a false police report.
