Moorhead Double-Homicide Trial Starts Monday
MOORHEAD, Minn. (AP) -- A Naytahwaush man accusing of killing two people and setting a Moorhead apartment on fire goes on trial Monday.
The Forum of Fargo, N.D., reports that authorities have publicly disclosed few details about the case against 38-year-old Tracy Zornes.
Zornes is accused of killing 25-year-old Megan Londo, of Naytahwaush, and 20-year-old John Cadotte, of Moorhead, on Feb. 19, 2010, and setting fire to the unit where their burned bodies were found. Autopsies found blunt-force and sharp-force injuries on both bodies.
The defense has told the court that Zornes may testify and assert an alibi defense.
Cadotte's car was found burned on a dirt road in rural Mahnomen County two days after the killings. Authorities later found Zornes in a makeshift shelter in the woods of the western Minnesota county.
