Moore, Augustus Gain WNBA Monthly Honors
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Lynx are on pace for the best season in franchise history, and the signs of progress are continuing to pile up.
Forward Maya Moore has been named the WNBA's Rookie of the Month and guard Seimone Augustus has been named the Western Conference Player of the Month.
The July awards were announced Tuesday by the league, before the Lynx hosted Phoenix. They took the best record in the 12-team WNBA into the game.
Moore scored a season-best 26 points in the win over Connecticut on July 9. Augustus scored a season-high 25 points in a win at Phoenix on July 20.
