Mom Makes It Her Mission To Teach CPR After Near Drowning
LAKEVILLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- A Lakeville mother is making it her mission to help others learn CPR after a child nearly drowned in her neighborhood.
Amy Solinger lives in a neighborhood that has a private pool. Last month, she invited a friend and her kids over to swim.
They were getting ready to jump in, when one of the kids, a 6-year-old, went missing.
"We had our backs turned for two minutes and when we turned around we couldn't find Cooper and we found him at the bottom of the pool," Solinger said.

They quickly pulled him out and another neighbor, Leah, started CPR right away. He was rushed to the hospital and is now doing great.
"The paramedics and the nurses at the hospital said this outcome is very unusual and it was completely attributed to the fact that Leah knew CPR and was able to administer it," she said.
Solinger has a friend who trains CPR and has been holding training sessions at her home. So far, 29 people have been certified. She says she'll keep at it, as long as there are people who want to learn to save lives.
