MNsure Reaches More Than 10,000 Accounts
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The state's new online health insurance marketplace is boasting that Minnesota is now the "Land of 10,000 MNsure Accounts."
MNsure's executive director, April Todd-Malmlov, says more than 10,000 Minnesotans have opened accounts in the first 10 days of the exchange's operation, including about 300 opened by small-business owners. And there have been more than 35,000 unique visits to the MNsure.org website. MNsure's call center has been taking an average of 1,000 calls each day.
Enrollment figures won't be available until Wednesday next week. Todd-Malmlov says some users inadvertently submitted multiple applications that need to be consolidated.
While many consumers have complained about glitches while trying to set up accounts or enroll, Todd-Malmlov says 90 percent of people who try are now able to get through.
