ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) - Scott Leitz, MNsure's interim CEO, is promising to make changes to the program after a review found problems with staffing, leadership and technology.

"I felt it was very important for us to get a really good, clear and independent look at where we were at with regard to MNsure," Leitz said.
The review, by Minnesota-based Optum Health, looked at MNsure's call center, program management and software.
When it came to the company's goals in achieving enrollment, Optum determined MNsure would fall short. This is due in part to the overwhelming call volume and lack of resources.
"We are really thinking about this in terms of what can we do in the short run, and what we can do moving forward," Leitz said.
He says MNsure plans on adding additional call-center representatives, creating a clearer system of "governance" and improving the website.
The deadline to enroll in MNsure is March 1.
