MN Supporter Of Ron Paul Predicts 'Blowback' At RNC

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The woman who led Ron Paul's campaign in Minnesota is predicting backlash in response to Republican Party efforts to limit Paul's presence at the national convention in Tampa.

Marianne Stebbens, a veteran Republican activist from Excelsior, is one of the Minnesota convention delegates who support Ron Paul and are clashing with the RNC over rules and other tactics they say are aimed at muzzling their movement.

"I'm afraid that the Republican Party -- or at least the Romney campaign -- is probably going to see some blowback from these strong-arm tactics. So there will be some floor fights," said Stebbens.

Stebbens and other Ron Paul supporters contend the party has strayed from true Republican principles and Stebbens characterizes the current inner-party tussles as "growing pains."

Paul addressed supporters in Tampa Sunday night. Stebbens also spoke.
