MN Rep. At Jobs Hearing In Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Three Republican congressmen are due in Las Vegas to talk about improving federal job training programs in the state dealing with the highest unemployment rate in the nation.
Nevada's Joe Heck, congressional Education and the Workforce Committee Chairman John Kline of Minnesota and California Rep. Howard P. "Buck" McKeon are hosting the Tuesday hearing at the Opportunity Village Ralph and Betty Englestad campus.
Henderson Mayor Andy Hafen, economic analyst Jeremy Aguero, St. Rose Dominican Hospitals executive LeRoy Walker and Darren Enns of the Southern Nevada Building and Construction Trades Council are on a panel talking about Nevada's economic and workforce needs.
Opportunity Village chief Ed Guthrie, Nevada Workforce Connections director John Ball and College of Southern Nevada executive Rebecca Metty-Burns are on another panel focusing on job training.
