MN Man Faces Prostitution Charges In Montana
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — A 20-year-old Minnesotaman whose brother pleaded guilty to a prostitution charge in Missoula County last year faces similar charges in Montana and Minnesota.
Leroy Clifford Edwards appeared in Justice Court in Missoula Wednesday on a felony charge of promoting prostitution involving two sisters.
Last February, his 28-year-old brother Terrence was given a five-year suspended sentence for forcing his then-girlfriend into prostitution.
Deputy County Attorney Kirsten LaCroix said law enforcement received tips in November and December that Terrence and Leroy Edwards were operating a prostitution business.
On Dec. 21, a warrant was issued for Terrence Edwards' arrest for allegedly violating his probation. He remains at large.
Leroy Edwards was arrested in late December on the Missoula County charges and for similar charges in Minnesota. He is jailed on $100,000 bail.
