Mitt Romney Makes Stops In Minnesota Thursday
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney is heading to Minnesota this Thursday. Romney is planning to attend private fundraisers in Lake Minnetonka and Shoreview.
He'll be at a fundraising reception at the Lafayette Club in Minnetonka Beach during the evening. Then he's going to a private home in Shorewood for a dinner where couples are paying $50,000 to attend.
There is no word yet on whether Romney can be expected to make a pit stop at the Minnesota State Fair, which opens this Thursday.
Vice President Joe Biden campaigned in Minnesota a few days ago. He held rallies at The Depot in Minneapolis and at the fairgrounds in Rochester on Tuesday.
During his speech at The Depot, Biden defended President Barack Obama's efforts to reform Wall Street, comparing Republican critics to "squealing pigs."
As some politicians make stops in Minnesota, some Minnesota politicians are just about to hit the road. The Republican National Convention is getting ready to kick off in Tampa next week, and former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty is being given a prominent speaking position. He'll take the podium right before Romney's running mate, Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan.
The Wednesday evening time slot will be seen by a national TV audience.
