Burnsville Police Believe Missing U Of M Woman Could Be A Homicide Victim
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Burnsville police said they've recovered evidence that leads them to believe that Anarae Schunk, the University of Minnesota student who's been missing for a week, may have been the victim of a homicide.
Burnsville authorities conducted numerous searches of various locations in connection with trying to locate Schunk, and police have obtained several items of evidence as a result. Though police aren't disclosing the details of the evidence recovered, the search to locate Schunk is continuing.
The Facebook page created to help find Schunk shared the following quote, "Late last night police confirmed the worst, Anarae is no longer with us."
Surveillance video showed Schunk and her ex-boyfriend, 31-year-old Shavelle Chavez-Nelson, in the parking lot of Nina's Grill in Burnsville early Sunday morning. That's also the location where police believe Chavez-Nelson shot and killed 23-year-old Palagor Jobi during an argument.
Chavez-Nelson was charged Thursday for allegedly shooting Jobi eight times.
