Missing Man's Skeletal Remains Found Near Granite Falls
GRANITE FALLS (WCCO) -- The skeletal remains of a man who went missing in April have been found near Granite Falls, Minn., according to the Yellow Medicine County Sheriff.
At 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, a Granite Falls resident told authorities that he found what he believed to be skeletal remains of a human body. The remains were located approximately 5 miles northeast of Granite Falls on US Highway 212.
On Tuesday, the Midwest Medical Examiner in Ramsey used dental records to confirm that the identity of the body is Eric Santiago Martinez Solorzano.
Solorzano was reported missing on April 2, 2011. While returning to Granite Falls from Montevideo, Soloranzo got out of his vehicle after arguing with his brother.
Law enforcement and fire department volunteers searched the area extensively, but searchers were unable to find him because of high flood waters and a fast moving current.
An investigation remains open, pending final autopsy results.
