Girl, 5, Missing Following Fatal Fire In Bemidji
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police in Bemidji are asking the public's help Wednesday in finding a missing 5-year-old girl after a fatal house fire.
Brittany Rose Balcer was visiting a home on the 3900 block of Irvine Avenue, the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension said. A fire started in the home, and after crews knocked down the flames, they found an adult body inside.
After a complete search of the home, Balcer was not found.
Authorities describe Balcer as standing 34 inches tall, weighing 50 pounds, with blonde hair and green eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black shirt, a pink skirt with stars and a pink bandage on her arm covering poison ivy.
Anyone who knows of Balcer's whereabouts is asked to call Bemidji police at 218-333-9111.
