Missing Coon Rapids Man Believed To Be Found Dead
COON RAPIDS, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities say a body was found near the Coon Rapids Dam Tuesday night, and authorities said they believe it's a 31-year-old man who has been missing since Aug. 25.
The Anoka County Sheriff's Office said two passers-by found the body Tuesday night at about 6 p.m. near the Coon Rapids Dam on Mississippi River Boulevard near Uplander Street. Authorities said there was no apparent evidence of trauma to the body when it was found.
Alan Lyle Taylor has not been seen since Aug. 25, and his disappearance had been described as "suspicious." At the time, he was wearing red shorts and no shirt. He left his car at his residence and didn't appear to make any preparations for a prolonged trip away from home, according to neighbors.
Taylor has been known to go fishing at the Three Rivers Park district near the Coon Rapids Dam. He had plans to begin school at Anoka Technical College and had made family plans for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
The body has been turned over to the Anoka County Medical Examiner's Office for a positive identification. The Anoka County Sheriff's Office told WCCO Radio Wednesday morning they believe it is Taylor.
