Minnetonka Neighborhood On Lock Down After Standoff
MINNETONKA, Minn. (WCCO) -- A Minnetonka neighborhood was put on lock down Monday morning while police investigated a standoff involving a gun in the area.
Residents in the Lone Lake neighborhood were told to stay inside their homes while police collected evidence and investigated the incident.
No one was injured but police say a woman was arrested for allegedly holding a UPS delivery driver against his will. Authorities say a gun was involved but it's not clear if it was pointed at the delivery driver or used as a threat.
Police are interviewing witnesses and the crime lab has been called in to collect evidence.
Neighbors say it started around 8:15 a.m. Monday and police had their guns drawn outside a home.
Police say the woman arrested was taken into custody without a struggle. During the incident, neighbors weren't allowed to leave the area, including one mother who was trying to get her kids to school.
"They were taking a few people out in handcuffs at the time," said Kobi Hoffman, "so we just were kind of watching and my husband called the police department to see if we should be staying inside the house or not. So I just had the kids go downstairs and we waited to learn more."
A few people inside the home in question, the woman's husband and a co-worker, were handcuffed and questioned but only the woman was arrested.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
