Minnetonka Cop Hurt In Crash With State Trooper
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A crash involving two squad cars sent a Minnetonka police officer to the hospital.
The officer and a State Trooper were both responding to a reported assault around 9:50 p.m. Sunday night. That's when Minnetonka police say the trooper rear-ended the officer's vehicle at the corner of Maple Lane and Lake Street.
The State Trooper was not hurt, but the police officer was hospitalized for back and neck pain.
Police say the two were heading to an incident where men had suffered cuts during an assault near Lucky's gas station on Highway 7. The two men told a homeowner they wanted an ambulance, but not the police. They were arrested and transported to Methodist Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The incident is under investigation by Minnetonka police.
