Minnesota's Weber Reaches 10,000 Yards Passing
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota's Adam Weber has become the fifth Big Ten quarterback in history to reach 10,000 career yards passing.
Weber's second-quarter completion to tight end Eric Lair put him past the milestone in Saturday's game against Penn State. The fourth-year starter for the Gophers joined Drew Brees and Curtis Painter of Purdue, Brett Basanez of Northwestern and Chuck Long of Iowa as members of the 10,000-yard club.
The scoreboard at TCF Bank Stadium flashed a congratulatory message for Weber a few minutes later, drawing a loud cheer from the crowd. Weber made his 46th consecutive start for Minnesota. He has been under center for every game of his career.
