Minnesotans, Sierra Club Push For EPA Rules
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- A group of Minnesotans and members of the Sierra Club will deliver 4,000 postcards to U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar on Wednesday.
The postcards urge Klobuchar and Sen. Al Franken to push for Environmental Protection Agency rules that the Sierra Club says would protect Americans from life-threatening health conditions.
The EPA is considering adopting provisions that would reduce levels of toxic mercury, lead and smog, much of which the groups say are caused by burning coal and oil.
The notes ask the Senators to hold corporations responsible for pollution and to create clean energy jobs.
